Community Group Space Available


St. James has been providing facilities to individuals and groups serving the surrounding community since its inception over 100 years ago. Today, over 1600 community members per month take advantage of free and low-cost programming including classes for young children, classes for parents, yoga classes, Buddhist meditation, numerous seminars, recitals and concerts, 12-step programs, neighborhood clubs, community organizing meetings, and election polling stations.

Partner Programs for Children (ages 4 to 10)

Children's Yoga with Ms. Homa

Thursday afternoons in the Caldwell Room. Children will practice yoga to calm their minds and bodies during the first part of the workshop. In the second part, they get to explore and express ideas in painting and drawings — taking insightful artworks home to share with family and friends. Suzuki Talent Education Program - Violin Lessons

Afternoons-Evenings on Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday, Sat, Sun. Classes for children are held in the side chapel. Suzuki and Traditional methods of teaching Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass and Piano Instruction.  Students also present four solo recitals each year.  For information, contact Ed Wilcox at (415) 412-6723.

Senior Resources, a program of Episcopal Senior Communities Information and referrals for Elders

Located at St. James, we offer information about housing, food, transportation, emergency financial assistance and many other resources available to seniors.

Always Active Exercise Program for Seniors,
Seniors Moving to Better Health

FREE, each Monday at 10 a.m. and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. year-round, in the Parish Hall.  Drop-ins welcome.   Medical permission form available in Church office

ElderWISE, Working in Service to Elders

Based at the CLC at St. James, ElderWISE provides social visits by trained volunteers to isolated and homebound elders in San Francisco, Oakland, and Monterey County, regardless of income.

California Collectors Club

Second and Fourth Friday of each month, 6:00 to 9:00 pm, in the Parish Hall.

Zen Meditation with Shinko Rick Slone
